It’s Time for Best Books Lists

Even though we have more than a month left in 2023, I have seen several publications release their “Best Books of 2023” lists. Last year, I debated what I should do in regards to these. I personally like to browse them and see if there are books that I have read or ones that I am unfamiliar with. I thought about analyzing them to see which books are universally, or at least across publications, agreed upon as the best books of the year. Let me share my current thinking with you, and please comment if you have any ideas or input.

I have been considering adding a new section to this website for “Guides”. These would be multi-post guides for a specific topic or area. For example, I have long wanted to create a guide to NYC bookstores since I am on a mission to visit every single one across the five boroughs. Or a guide for the holiday books released, that would be composed of not only the mainstream romance releases but also the indie releases, holiday mysteries, and more.

While I build this portion of the website, I plan to post the best book lists from different publications. Although this may seem redundant since those newspapers, magazines, etc. are publishing them, I am well aware that most publications have pay walls these days (and our dollars are not going as far). So I am hoping that I can make these lists both more accessible and have some fun discussing them. In the meantime, you can click the links below to take a look at some of these released lists.
